Wow! Some weekends just stand apart from the others when it comes to a successful outing with the camera. This past weekend was no different as I scored numerous bolts and really amazing scenes. I’ve got too much material to pour through and honestly, the volume is beginning to get to me in a daunting sort of way.
Regardless, Saturday was my only outing of the weekend (unless you count a Pitbull -!!!- concert on Sunday) — and what a day it was!
Models pointed towards the Socorro – Truth or Consequences area for most of the day with the few remaining storms actually persisting north of there closer to Belen. Obs agreed with this overall approach as dews and satellite showed some weak attempts at storms to the west but more robust/widespread development south of me in Albuquerque.
I spent much of the day capturing beautiful time lapses and then for a magical hour or so in the evening it was a bolt bonanza as two different storms had a fiesta in the evening light. Incredible bolts danced across the skies, mixing in incredible colors that only storm light can provide.
